What's the target date for the basic playable proof of concept?

Let's get it out by the 29th. Make it a leap year release.

Sounds good.
EDIT: Anyone have real experience in Renpy?

I think calling a date before having a programmer is unwise. We should work with creativity in mind, not a deadline.

I think calling a date before having a programmer is unwise. We should work with creativity in mind, not a deadline. I've had two people volunteer to program to me via PM. One of whom is the OP, wootnik. Hopefully they live up to the commitment. I have faith in all of us. I think we're on to something here.

I've already got your preliminary script from the other Demo thread up and working as a test. All it needs is art and music. And... other things.

Is there any way to make Renpy look a little more...attractive?
Also, the 29th might be too short of a deadline, but deadlines are very good for keeping the project moving forward. We have creativity, but we don't want to wind up like KS.

Attractive in what way? There are plenty of ways to customize the look and feel of it, from what I understand.

The text looks a tad plain. I think a nicer, smaller font with a smaller window would look good. Also, a little placard with names would look great. Think like KS, with a darker skin.

I never played KS, but if you get me a picture or drawing of what you're talking about, I can likely replicate it

Wow, so quick... just something. It says Memento Vivire instead of Memento Vivere.

Yeah, I've been misspelling that since yesterday. I'll fix it in the next version, because the script's not even set yet, so I don't really want to commit to what I've got. Was just messing around, really.

Can you post the files when you've made the formatting changes? At some point, if we have the writers directly implementing their text we'll want to use GIT or some other version control, but for now just posting our copies of the VN files should work out.

I can do that. I've been keeping it on my web server.
I also have a subversion server, but I don't know for how long.

The text looks a tad plain. I think a nicer, smaller font with a smaller window would look good. Also, a little placard with names would look great. Think like KS, with a darker skin. ☑ Smaller font ☑ Smaller window ☑ "Separate" window for character names ☐ Knowing what KS looks like ☐ Nicer font If you'd like to see what I've got so far, there's this. repo.woogers.net/woogers/memviv.zipNo art, or anything, just the text and basic UI. And a choice near the end. I'm not much of a type setter, so I don't know of an attractive font, but I can change it to any font I can get my hands on, if you have any ideas.
