So I'm buying a domain name. So we can put the forums, blog, and future website in one place. All the good and relevant domain names are taken. So Kraus suggested to go with the studio name. Problem is, we don't have a studio name. So here we go. I vote Studio Junrail www.studiojunrail.com

I'm all for this name because I think its one we all can agree on to some extent.
I'm also finishing up the website (should be finished by Saturday 2-25-2012) so getting it up (or most of it up) would be beneficial for grabbing more support from /a/ and the rest of the web.
Lets make it happen soon folks.

Aside from being a bit silly, it also features one of the characters in the name. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to display any sort of favoritism.

I remember "OtherSide Studios" being thrown around the IRC.
I'll toss in "Step 4 Studio" as our name.

OtherSide Studios and Step 4 Studio are better than Studio Junrail. Basically, most anything other than Studio Junrail is better than Studio Junrail.

While I like the idea of Studio Junrail, it does show a certain character bias that we really shoudn't.
OtherSide Studios sounds pretty good though,

If I had to go with one of the alternatives, I'd say Step4 Studios.

OtherSide isn't really a good name and Step4 isn't very good either (also gives us one of those 4LS similarities you guys hate so much).
Is there some reason for picking these or are they just thrown out?
Junrail was a acceptable name not because it was good but because it had recognition in the community and it meant something to us.

Something Latin to keep with the theme. This already narrows the scope somewhat. Junrail was a acceptable name not because it was good but because it had recognition in the community and it meant something to us. Not really a convincing argument. You can only repeat an inside-joke so often before it becomes stale.

Something Latin to keep with the theme. Any language but Latin, I'd rather we keep the pretentious quotient as low as possible. You can only repeat an inside-joke so often before it becomes stale. That only applies if you continuously associate the studios name with the joke rather than the studio. Our fan base is never going to do that and most of us won't either.

That'd be all well and good if we didn't talk about Junrails every single day. So hey, let's not associate our studio with a joke, it's stupid and makes it look like we don't care about this at all.

Step 4 is right out, because as has been pointed out, it will be seen as a direct comparison to 4LS. People will be comparing us enough already without us deliberately making it look like we're aping them.
I don't really care about the name, but I've always liked something overblown and corporate sounding because lolirony. International Visual Novel Warehouse Conglomeration, LLC. Visual Arts and Narratives Polytechnic Corporation. Trans-Atlantic Interactive Future Media Incorporated.
