Everyone needs a bro, and the MC is no different. One idea I've seen and liked is that the best friend is the only character who's actually savvy about zombies. I also like the idea of a hidden romantic/bromantic path with him, but we can debate whether we really want to do that.
So anyway, let's hear what you think of MC's friend. Who is he, exactly?

I think the bromance route is something to consider despite being... well gay. It would be rather unique at least. Also having him be the generic zombie apocalypse fearing /k/ommando sounds like a good idea; even better if he has weapons. Gives the MC a goal.

While my reply is not 100% serious, i would like to throw in the idea of an extremely Gar/Bro, older brother type best friend.
Depending on the MC type this type of best friend could take the role of a role model or older brother who, "Kills zombies and doesnt afraid of anything". Thus giving the MC someone to be inspired by during darker moments of the plot and who he can rely on when everyone else is relying on him.
In addition said character could be killed off during certain routes to create heartfelt moments. Then the older brother could come back as a zombie, and giving the player several choices of how do deal with him (kill, detain in hopes of cure, etc.)

Bro: MC's old friend from High School. Watched one too many zombie movies and now considers himself an "expert on the undead". More than happy to be living in his apocalyptic fantasy he has more than a few problems distinguishing between the possible and the insane.

From the original thread on /a/, I had the idea that the bro-mance route BAD END occurs if you don't show enough interest in keeping the relationship with him, but enough so he doesn't hate you. Basically what I thought is that zombies are coming to attack the group and there is little hope of survival, so bro jumps in and attempts to hold them off for as long as he can. You can choose to go after or leave him, the former giving a BAD END where the two of you have an epic last stand against the zombies, ending with all of them dead, but both of you dying. One bullet left in the gun and bro offers to use it on you to prevent you from turning.

For some reason I feel like a bro arc would always result in a BAD END, maybe cause I don't feel like we should really make a legit route for him, but at least let people who want to zombie party with bro make it to the end of Allies arc. That would be 2-3 hours of awesome, and I assume the Escape is when the ero starts coming in, with some girls it might come sooner, but does bro really need ero?
Thoughts or comments I just don't see people taking bro route seriously, so we should make it short, sweet and awesome. Like a kenji route done right.

Bro is just Bro.
Bro as a person is the Bro. Bro has a habit of calling MC a variety of nicknames such as chief, leader or ace.
Bro is a known zombie fanatic.
Bro and MC were acquaintances during High School. After 3-4 years, Bro and MC met up again with Bro saving MC and his GF from a zombie attack. This meeting is only brief as Bro has distracted the Zombies away from the MC/GF. Bro will again save them again at an event shortly after when MC is foraging for supplies.
Currently, the IRC is in conflict of Bro's name.
We have two options.
*Bro is the nameless Bro.
Ceilo justified the Bro name by saying that both the MC/Bro are slightly embarrassed they don't remember each other's name. This creates a small social awkwardness between the two.
*Bro's name is _______.
Bloodneck extended on Celio's dea in order to give Bro a name. MC would remember eventually his name but MC has grown accustomed to "Bro" he didn't bother switching.

I suggest we make Bro the social chair of a local college's fraternity, just to have him be the bro of bros.
The suggestion to stick to calling him Bro is an excellent one, though I also approve of "Ethan" for a real name that is never used. It can be one of those things that's revealed in a character profile you get for completing the game rather than be explicitly in-game.

It would be like Kyon, not his real name, but we never find out. Also bro should be the one with the sledge hammer, not MC. I see him like Rance, fucking excited.
