MC's weapon of choice is a sledge hammer

That's extremely unwieldy. I thought we would go with something more sensible, like a baseball bat. Now here's the real question: wood or aluminum?

We agreed to hammer as MC's default but if you can think of any more weapons to replace it feel free to post them.

I'm for making bro the tank with the sledge hammer, while MC should be more improv, giving the player a choice between different weapons. I mean if you give him a gun from the get go, what other choice do you need than to shoot?

If I recall, the smallest ones are about two feet long and weigh about fifteen kilograms... then again I am bad at judging weight. Point is that it is not that unlikely of a weapon, since it is common like an axe, but because of the weight it might not be the best possible choice, although a cool one. I for one think that a riot shield might be a cool choice.

MC's real reason for breaking up was a growing depression. During the events of the story, he manages to forget about it by immersing himself in work and helping others.

Note that sledgehammers, while heavy, tend to be relatively well balanced and multipurpose. Indeed, if we were to compare Gordon Freeman and his crowbar to a sledgehammer, the crowbar is far inferior for anything but prising crates open.
Also, less blood splashes and sound. A fire axe might be ok though.

What I like to know is how MC would get this weapon. Giving him a weapon feels like we're making him safe. We shouldn't want that. A knife is enough that he can go cut stuff for material and pick locks, but not for combat. We shouldn't even touch on combat until act 2.

Aluminum folding chair held closed by red duct tape. Light, sturdy and visually distinctive while lacking killing power in the hands of a casual.

Last name will most likely be Fa(u)lkner.
First name is still being debated. Personally I'd favour Grey, Clyde, Richard or Clarence.
Top Three: Saul, Grey, Roy.

I still say Denton. It actually feel like a real name without being overly pretentious. Saul? Who the fuck names their kid Saul these days? I don't think enough kids are named Grey to make that feel appropriate, especially with mundane names like Sara floating around. Roy might be decent.

We ran it past Tom and it seems a consensus has been made: MC's name confirmed as Grey Faulkner.

Mugen (?) suggested Falco as first name, probably in jest/desperation. Someone else said Falkner and I changed it to Faulkner for that certain classy feeling.
